We are always open to new ideas and suggestions here and thought it would be good to start a suggestion box.
Whatever your ideas, wether about what you would like to see on the main website or in the forum, ideas for challenges , fundraising or work shops post here.

Now the old Galleries have gone from the forum, might it be possible some time to have the pictures only from the old ones put back in an archive thread as I used to like to go back and look at them.

On the main site, where there are links under the "Artist of the Month" interview...when you click on these it links to the artist's page...would it be possible to have access either from these personal pages, or from the DoftheM page or both, to the old archive interviews too? I'm sure people would still like to read them.Very Happy

Eileen, you should be able to browse the old Galleries still, you just can't add any comments to them, let me know if you have a problem with it. I know Nicky has plans for more pics on the main website,

Would it be possible to sort out the DOM thread it runs backwards and is very confusing - maybe the easiest solution would be to start a new thread for October. Very Happy

Hello,

Nicky C did run through this briefly for me at Miniatura (bless you and thank you) but it didnt stay in my head.

Scale, I struggle with scale and correct sizes.

I am also a mm and cm gal and inches are a foreign language.

I know an inch = 1ft

A rough guide to various age ranges of peeps would be fabulous.

Thanks muchly

Very Happy If you're ok resizing things on the computor you can get any picture you want into the right scale by adjusting the size of the picture in the 100% screen view and measuring to get it the right size...then the printout is scaled correctly for features, costume, accessories etc. It also works for sketches/skeletons etc.

I like to work from a sketch or a picture for scale too. Have you seen the Jamie Carrington sketches, they've got the youngsters and oldies too.

Also with the inches vs cms....I have a double scale ruler with inches one side, cms the other which is really useful!...even though I try to be modern at other times Embarassed I always do doll things in inches as it's so much easier...6 foot=6 inches etc. If I ever mention cms I'm just reading off the double scale ruler LOL.

Eileen

does that mean if you have a pattern and it`s 1/12th scale and you resize it down 50% that would give you a print out for 1/24th. Not much good with computers either lol.

I think so ..... Laughing scratch This is how I get confused!! Mental arithmetic LOL affraid
....this is why I just find it simpler to get my ruler on the computer screen and just fiddle the size up and down a bit til it is the length you want !! We've got a completely flat LCD screen which helps, although I did do it before with my old tube one which had a curve, and it did still work... I've never used patterns myself, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with them to scale up or down, although it might be safest to keep them all on the same sheet I guess to ensure they'd still fit together acurately!!
